Today I got to speak on a panel with a great set of speakers Marshall Breeding, Neil Block and Curtis Thacker. We had a great time and really enjoyed the audience. Our slides from today are below.
So last week I got to attend a new event sponsored by ER&L called Designing for Digital (see Twitter Design4Lib). This conference had some great library as well as external perspectives on user experience design. The keynotes were great and had very broad experience in this area (see opening keynote @jkolko below who is VP of Product, Innovation, and Design at Blackboard).
The closing keynote for Designing for Digital 2015 was Frank Migliorelli of the New York Public Library. He is currently their Director of Digital Experience and can be found on twitter @NYPLFrank. Frank by his own admission has a long list of to do items to improve UX across the entire NYPL. He has some great ideas as noted in his keynote. You may know Frank from his work on the Charlotte, NC based ImaginOn library and museum.
Yesterday I was in Austin, TX to give the closing keynote for the ER&L 2015 Conference. I hated that I could not get to town sooner to take in more of the conference. Especially, the big discovery panel and the talk from Marshall Breeding (open source central index – now that is a cool idea). However, I did get into town (sans luggage) to give the closing keynote and I had a blast. Below are my slides from the talk and I will work to put up the full stream soon.
I will get to attend the exciting new conference Designing for Digital (#Design4Lib) happening today and will have more on that event soon at this blog.
